Except when anyone whines that the Dems aren't pushing Our Leaders around with their hair thin congressional majorities, this is why: When your majority in the Senate relies on a delusional whacko like Lieberman, you're limited.

OK, a quick comment: What fucked up basis is there for Lieberman's belief in McCain? If for nothing else, the self-proclaimed straight talker is a panderer and flip-flopper.

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is trying to build momentum toward a repeat of his 2000 New Hampshire primary victory.

He's doing it by piling up high-profile endorsements, including one from another political maverick, Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman.

The Democrat-turned-independent is scheduled to announce his support for McCain at a town hall meeting tomorrow morning.

A Lieberman adviser says the senator decided to back the Republican McCain because he believes his colleague "has the best chance of uniting the country in its fight against Islamic terrorism.''
